Professional Expertise

In 2026, I will mark my 29th year as a teacher of English to speakers of other languages. As an educator, I specialize in executive coaching, corporate and intercultural communication workshops, and online business English courses for small groups.

Teaching Philosophy & Approach

Since I earned my teaching certificate from San Diego State University in 1997, my approach has steadily evolved, shaped by experience and ongoing professional development.

Today, I draw mainly on the Natural Approach, which emphasizes authentic communication in real‑world contexts. I integrate spaced‑repetition learning strategies to help learners remember and build on what they’ve learned over time. I incorporate problem‑solving and other task‑based activities to keep learning practical and relevant to workplace needs.

Rather than relying on lectures or excessive correction, I strive to create a positive learning environment where my clients feel at ease while building confidence and competence as communicators.

I was born and raised in the United States, but have lived in the Frankfurt Rhine-Main region of Germany since 1997.
